For 35 years, since 1973, 9to5 has worked around the clock for your rights as a working woman.

9to5 has been instrumental in policy changes on issues including welfare reform, pay equity, sexual harassment, family leave and workplace discrimination.  We have provided policy analysis and grassroots leadership to win federal victories such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, the 1991 improvements in the Civil Rights Act, and greater investments in child care and health care for working families, as well as state and local victories on these issues.  In 2008, we led the historic campaigns that won paid sick days in Milwaukee and defended equal opportunity programs in Colorado.

This page will be updated with links, factsheets, and ways you can get involved in the movement for change.  Until then, call the 9to5 Activist Network at 1-800-669-0769 to learn more about our work.

9to5 is committed to:

Balancing Work and Family: We work to win family-friendly policies to help all working people balance responsibilities at home and on the job.

Workplace Equality: 9to5 works to eliminate workplace discrimination through education on legal rights on the job, monitoring of enforcement agencies, and by expanding anti-discrimination laws and equal opportunity programs.

Quality Jobs & Benefits: We work for family-supporting jobs, and for strong safety net and welfare policies that allow women to be self sufficient while supporting their families.

"Election Connection": Civic engagement is at the core of 9to5's mission and programs.  Since beginning our non-partisan voter registration, education and mobilization project in 1996, we have reached and involved hundreds of thousands of low-income women.  Our Election Connection program is one way we engage women to join our movement, win crucial policy change and hold elected officials accountable.
