9to5 Milwaukee 2010 Board

9to5 Milwaukee's local member board was approved by member election, as of 2/15/10.

Angie Grice: 9to5 is important to me because it motivates me as a young lady, mother, and scholar. I have been working for 6 years and have seen injustices that must be changed, and am now a weekly intern at 9to5. 9to5 is a community for working moms to ensure that we are all important.

Sherry Johnson: Ever since I found out what 9to5 is about, especially on paid sick days, I believe in the work and I attended the member meetings. I lost my job over a Milwaukee business that did not have paid sick leave. 9to5’s fight for justice must continue and I believe in it.

Bobbi Korenak: I feel I would be a good candidate to be on the board because I can bring my knowledge and personal experience. I can use these as powerful words to big business and as a confident voice to speak out for people who can't or wont. I have passion to help and make a difference for all people. I have compassion to listen and hear the thoughts of others. I would be a positive gain and role model on the board.

Teresa Mambu–Rasch: As a working woman, I am a proud member of 9 to 5 Milwaukee.  I joined 9 to 5 because of its progressive advocacy program around paid sick days for all workers.  I am interested in serving on the Milwaukee 9 to 5 board to become more involved in 9 to 5's legislative agenda and commitment to working women and their families in Milwaukee and throughout Wisconsin.  As a lawyer who works on behalf of working people, I have a unique perspective and passion for employment and labor law that I will bring to 9 to 5 and its members.

Lila Saavedra: As a strong working woman and mother, 9to5 is important to me to ensure my daughter a bright future. I have been volunteering weekly for 10 months, and attended the ALC. I wish to be on the board to help bring new ideas from a young working mom’s perspective.

Jenissee Volpinista: 1. i believe in the fight for woman's equality in the workplace.  as a single mother i have felt first hand how the employment gender discrepancy effects one's quality of life and ability to provide for one's family. 2.  as a survivor of domestic violence, i can offer a unique perspective on the effects domestic violence has on working women. 3.  as someone who maintains a career in the public sector working with our city and state legislators, labor unions and progressive groups, i can provide a perspective of policy analysis, insight to current and past leadership and a background in lobbying.

Rhonda Willette: As working woman, I want to be part of the solution. I value families first and 9to5 is a working woman’s organization. I’d like to be on the board of a group that strives to sustain families.
