THE 99% SUMMIT

WHAT: You and fellow leaders and activists are invited to attend the 99% Summit.

WHO: Leaders from the 99% -- Activists from community organizations & unions; unemployed & underemployed workers and low-wage workers; BadgerCare recipients who are fighting back to save their healthcare; and unaffiliated people; etc.

WHY: As we continue to build our movement and the struggle here in Wisconsin, we need to develop leaders in the fight for social & economic justice. We need skilled, educated, empowered leaders from the 99% to organize in their communities, neighborhoods and workplaces. We need activists who understand themselves as leaders in a movement of the 99% to win economic fairness and social justice.

That is why Wisconsin Jobs Now (WJN) is hosting the “99% Summit,” a day of skills training, political education, and leadership development for the people who are powering the 99% movement here in Wisconsin. The workshops will be conducted by some of the best organizers in the country, coming in to lead the training, as well as local leaders who are building the movement here in Wisconsin.

WJN is opening up the 99% Summit to all activists so that this leadership development program can strengthen the work of those who are with us in this struggle in Wisconsin and in this movement at large. Consider the 99% Summit a way for you to take a giant step forward with the leadership capacity you need to advance the movement and contribute more to the struggles for social & economic justice.
