Latino/a LGBT Community Gathering
- Local Chapter: Colorado
Colorado Progressive Coalition/COLOR Office
1029 Santa Fe Drive, Denver
Did you know 52% of transgender Coloradans report workplace discrimination? Or that one-third of African American LGBT Coloradans are raising children? Or that 32% of Latino/a LGBT Coloradans have no health insurance?
In the last three weeks, One Colorado has traveled east to west, north to south and talked with hundeds of Coloradans. From a transgender woman in Grand Junction to a young Latino activist in Denver to a retired African American teacher in Durango, we have listened to the unique and sometimes challenging circumstances facing many members of our community.
And One Colorado has heard your call for more discussion about race and gender identity within the LGBT community. One Colorado is pleased to invite transgender, African American, and Latino/a LGBT Coloradans to a series of safe, informal community gatherings:
These gatherings will be informal and conversational. Along with One Colorado, 9to5 seeks to engage the input from transgender, African American and Latino/a LGBT Coloradans in our ongoing dialogue about the experiences and needs of LGBT Coloradans.
