Welcome Beth Miller, 9to5 Lutheran Volunteer!
- Local Chapter: Atlanta
Hello everyone! My name is Beth Miller, and I’m a member of the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, working with Atlanta 9to5 as a Chapter Organizer this year. I’ll be working with Jayne Mariotti answering the 9to5 Job Helpline and doing outreach and advocacy campaigns. I’ll also be working with Asha Leong and the members of the Activist Network.
I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, and graduated last spring from Grinnell College with a Bachelor’s degree in English and anthropology. As a student, I worked to create internship positions with nonprofit organizations in Detroit for Grinnell students. I was also a member of the Feminist Action Coalition and an advocate for Domestic Violence Alternatives/Sexual Assault Center.
Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a community of faith that works for peace and social justice. Volunteers commit to one year of service with a nonprofit organization in one of sixteen cities, and are placed into houses with other volunteers, committing to living simply and sustainably in intentional communities. I’m very excited to be a part of LVC, and to be working with 9to5!
