  9to5 is seeking the participation on one (1) member to accompany Chapter Organizer Shyria Coleman on a day trip to Albany, Ga to provide an update about the Parent Protection Act to the members of the Council on Aging at their Spring meeting.  If you are interested in participating in this activity please contact Shyria by phone 404.222.0037 or email: shyria [at] 9to5 [dot] org   We will need to leave Atlanta at 7AM SHARP in order to insure that we will arrive on time in Albany for the 9AM meeting.  We will stay for lunch and network with other advocates.  We will leave for the return trip to Atlanta at 1:30PM SHARP.  We should be back to Atlanta no later than 4PM that afternoon.     Below you will find useful background information about the Co-Age Council   CO-AGE By participation in the Coalition of Advocates for Georgia's Elderly (CO-AGE), the priorities of thousands of older Georgians are represented. Those who participate are expected to:

1. attend quarterly meetings (usually the second Thursday of the first month in each quarter);

2. Participate in the process of reaching consensus regarding state legislative priorities;

3. educate and involve local constituencies in advocating for these issues affecting the elderly (includes but is not limited to organizing responses to the alert tree); and

4. where possible, assist with costs of CO-AGE activities through voluntary contributions and in-kind assistance such as meeting space, printing, mailing, and copying.
