Community Organizers have always been the catalyst to spark change around fundamental issues, i.e. labor movement, civil rights, human rights.

President Obama, from his experiences as an organizer insists that change starts from the ground up.  But what exactly does community organizing entail?  Ever wondered how to organize and mobilize people around the issues that matter to you? How does one become more civically responsible and engaged?

Let's have a discussion on how to make it happen!  From the minds and voices of everyday people have come extraordinary change.  Let's see how we can fit in.

On Saturday, April 25th, 2009 I am hosting an opportunity to begin the conversation beyond theory and rhetoric into thoughtful and practical methods to create change in our community

Shyria Coleman, Community Organizer with 9 to 5 National Association of Working Women will facilitate the discussion.

Wine and light refreshments will be served...Invite a friend, this will be a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere; so make sure you bring a notebook and lots of questions looking forward to the conversation.

Peace, Nicole
