Change Comes from Within

Atlanta chapter CIP graduate Ebony Thomas is passionate about 9to5 and is deeply committed to the issue areas we champion.  During the fall of 2009 Ebony joined chapter Organizer Shyria Coleman and fellow members Marilynn Winn and Jerretta Johnson at the 2009 Community Media Organizing Project (CMOP) Annual Media Skills Training held in Nashville Tennesee.  Ebony was tracked to a special project during the three day media skills retreat where she learned the ins and outs to digital stroy telling.  Ebony, along with other grassroots leaders from across the southeats, created movie shorts that told their stories and highlighted the campaign issue that most effceted their daily lives.  Ebony created a touching personal testimony about her need for paid sick days and family friendly work place policies designed to support her and women like her who are struggling to juggle their family and work responsibilities.

"Change comes from Within" is a powerful digital essay with moving visuals images that capture your heart, evoke a deeper inquieree into the issue and inspire you to take action to challenge current work place standards. Ebony's story was unveiled at the 2009 Winter Social and received a standing ovation from attendees at the chapter event. The Atlanta Chapter staff and Ebony are excited to share her unqiue personal testimony with the rest of our 9to5 family. We hope to inspire your creativity and encouage all 9to5 leaders to take action and share your story in your words... there is power in the message!
